ACCOUNTING SYSTEMS
Accountant using a calculator
The survival of your business is founded on the development of excellent accounting systems. An accounting system is the entire process from using the right software, to protection of cybersecurity, to accurate and proper record keeping and management of regulatory filings. Keeping records of your receipts, bank documents, credit statements, loan agreements, contracts, and other important business documents.

Ensuring these documents are safely stored, efficiently organized, and readily available is paramount to an excellent accounting system. By establishing a good record keeping plan as part of the accounting system, it assists in efficiently preparing financial statements at year-end and reducing audit risk from the Canada Revenue Agency. As a chartered professional accountant and an experience business consultant, I can help your business create an excellent accounting system to ensure that you minimize risks.
COACHING
Inexperience in accounting, finance, and tax can lead to short-term mistakes that could cause problems in a particular area within your business, or lead to long-term financial, legal, or other damages. Coaching is important to help mitigate these short-term and long-term risks, such that your business is well-prepared heading into future growth. My approach to coaching your business is to provide one-on-one guidance, and hands-on training to teach equip the knowledge and know-how to manage your accounting and finance systems. As a chartered professional accountant with 25+ years of tax and accounting experience, and as a QuickBooks Desktop and Online ProAdvisor, I capitalize on my wealth of knowledge and field experience to teach you how best to approach and manage these risks, and plan for the future of your business.

In the past, I’ve worked with new companies to provide advisory consultation in managing and planning for business growth, tax and accounting strategies, and guidance on the ins and outs of incorporation. As a result of the coaching, these clients have generally improved their business model based on my recommendations.

I worked with one particular client operating a 20-year old business, to review income statement expenses and assess the most effective cost-cutting measures to sustain their business model. Post-coaching, the client restructured their business processes by increasing prices and reducing labour and raw materials costs to become profitable, pay off their debts, and plan for real structured growth.
